Homeschool Behavior Procedure

ELC Lagoon Academy Homeschool Behavioral Procedure

1st act of misconduct:  Instructor or other adult brings student to education staff member who is not teaching activities (if no education staff in office, student will be sent to administration staff member). Education staff member speaks with student, shows them the contract, and gives them some time out of activities (approx. 20 minutes). During this time the student can sit quietly, lay down, read, or color.

2nd act of misconduct: Student is brought to education staff member not teaching activities and put on contract. Parent/guardian is called about the incident and informed that their student will be sent home if there is further issue.  Upon pickup, the student, Instructor and director of education sign the contract and each gets a copy, with an additional copy going into the student’s file. The student also receives more time out of activity and the education staff member will talk with the student about what they can do to avoid future misconducts.

3rd act of misconduct: Student is brought to education staff member not teaching activities.  If the student has broken the contract, staff will call home and tell the parent/guardian that their student must be picked up from lesson that day.

4th act of misconduct: Student is expelled from lesson for the remainder of program without refund.

If there is an issue where the student is a danger to themselves or others, parents/guardians will be called, and they will be sent home without any of the above steps.
